Your Real Rate · last updated 29 October 2026
Your Real Rate keeps what you enter on your phone. There is no account and no sign-in. Your ZIP code, usage and plan are never sent to us or to anyone else.
Everything you enter is written to your iPhone and stays there:
When you scan a bill, the photo or PDF is read on your phone to fill in numbers such as your kWh and charges. The image and the bill itself are not saved or sent anywhere; only the numbers you choose to keep are stored, as above. The same goes for a welcome email or contract summary you scan to check a new sign-up: it's read on your phone, compared with the plan you chose, and not kept.
If you sign up through the app, it keeps a note of the plan you chose and the day you signed up, on your phone, to remind you of the free-cancellation deadline and to check your first bill.
If you add your contract dates to your calendar from My plan, iPhone's own New Event screen opens with the dates filled in, and you choose the calendar and save it. The app can't read or change your calendar; the event is stored wherever that calendar keeps its events.
All pricing, reminders and alerts are worked out on your phone. Reminders and alerts are local notifications: your phone schedules them itself, with no server involved.
Once a day, and whenever you pull down to refresh the plan list, the app downloads the current list of Texas electricity plans. That request asks for the same file for everyone and contains nothing about you. The file is served by Cloudflare, which, like any web host, receives the request's network address in order to deliver it. We do not use that to identify anyone, and we have no way to connect it to what you entered in the app.
When you tell the app you signed up for a plan, or tap Save a copy under Your plan's documents, it downloads that plan's Electricity Facts Label, Terms of Service and Your Rights as a Customer from the links the provider gives Power to Choose, and keeps them on your phone. Those requests go to the provider's website or a file or link service it uses, which receives your network address as any website does; they carry nothing you entered in the app.
A plan's documents on the provider's site open in Safari inside the app. Its sign-up page opens in a private browser window inside the app, with no saved cookies or history, and goes straight to that provider's website (or a licensed broker's). The app doesn't read or save what you type there; that's between you and the provider, under their privacy policy. If we receive a referral fee for a sign-up, the link may carry a code that says the visit came from Your Real Rate. It does not carry your usage, your address or anything else you entered in the app.
The app's privacy manifest, which Apple publishes on the App Store listing, declares no collected data types and no tracking.
If you back up your iPhone to iCloud or to a computer, that backup is made by Apple's software and may include the app's stored data, as it does for your other apps. Those backups are controlled by you and by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. We have no access to them.
Use Start over in the app's Settings, or delete the app. Either removes everything it stored. No copy is held anywhere else, so there is no account to close and nothing to request.
Your Real Rate is meant for adults choosing an electricity plan. It collects no data from anyone, so it collects none from children.
If a future version ever collects or sends anything about you, this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the change will be described plainly here. The date at the top tells you when it last changed.
Your Real Rate is published by Nova Meridia LLC. It is not affiliated with the Public Utility Commission of Texas, ERCOT, or any electricity provider.
